Campus Operations takes care of all the maintenance, grounds and custodial needs at Moraine Valley. They also manage all of the college's construction projects, including new buildings and renovations to existing facilities. A major project was the construction of the Southwest Education Center (SWEC) in Tinley Park. SWEC was Moraine Valley’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building with many sustainable features.
The department's work also has earned beautification awards from the City of Palos Hills for the last 10 years. The grounds crew maintains more than 200 acres of college property, grasses, trees, gardens and open spaces, which rival the beauty of any college campus in the country.
